Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how FilamentPicks collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit filamentpicks.com, use related subdomains or the Print Radar application, subscribe to the newsletter, contact us, or purchase a digital product.

Who we are

FilamentPicks is an independent 3D-printing research, recommendation, and software website operated by Vlad in Romania. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@filamentpicks.com.

Information we collect

Newsletter information. If you subscribe, we collect the email address you provide and, when supplied, your name, subscription source, consent record, and email engagement information.

Contact and support information. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message, attachments, order details, and any troubleshooting information you choose to share.

Purchase and license information. When you purchase Print Radar, Lemon Squeezy processes the checkout. FilamentPicks may receive order and license metadata needed to deliver and support the product, such as your name, email address, product, order identifier, license status, activation count, and transaction status. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.

License activation information. To activate Print Radar, you provide the purchase email and license key. The application sends the information necessary to validate the license with Lemon Squeezy through a FilamentPicks server-side gateway. The application also creates an installation identifier and records activation and last-verification information on your device. Technical and security logs may temporarily record information such as IP address, time, request status, browser type, and error details.

Website technical information. Our hosting, security, caching, anti-spam, and consent systems may automatically process IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, referring page, cookie preferences, and diagnostic or security events.

Print Radar’s local-first workspace

Print Radar is designed to store its working data locally in your browser. This may include printers, materials and spools, print logs, diagnoses, maintenance records, cost settings, preferences, and similar workspace data. This local workspace is not transmitted to FilamentPicks by default and is not automatically synchronized to a cloud account.

Your browser and device control this data. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, changing browser profiles, or losing the device may remove it. Backups that you export remain under your control until you choose to share them, for example in a support request.

How and why we use information

  • To provide the website, deliver Print Radar, validate licenses, enforce the two-device activation limit, and provide customer support.
  • To process newsletter subscriptions and send requested communications.
  • To secure, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve the website and application.
  • To maintain transaction, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and compliance records.
  • To establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and comply with legal obligations.

Depending on the activity, our legal basis under applicable data-protection law is performance of a contract, your consent, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving FilamentPicks. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the impact on your rights and use only information reasonably necessary for the purpose.

Purchases through Lemon Squeezy

Lemon Squeezy acts as Merchant of Record for Print Radar transactions and independently handles checkout, payment processing, applicable taxes, receipts, fraud checks, chargebacks, and transaction-related refunds. Its collection and use of purchase information are governed by the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy and its Buyer Terms.

Newsletter and MailerLite

Newsletter subscriptions and email campaigns are managed with MailerLite. MailerLite processes subscriber information on our behalf to provide forms, maintain subscription records, deliver emails, manage unsubscribes, and report campaign performance. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email. For more information, see MailerLite’s Privacy Policy.

Cookies and similar technologies

FilamentPicks uses cookies and similar technologies necessary for website operation, security, preferences, WordPress administration, and consent management. Embedded services may also use related technologies. Where required by law, non-essential cookies are used only according to the choices available through the website’s consent controls.

You can also control cookies through your browser. Blocking or clearing some cookies or local storage may affect forms, preferences, license sessions, or locally stored Print Radar workspace data.

Affiliate links and external retailers

FilamentPicks participates in affiliate programs, including Amazon Associates and selected manufacturer or retailer programs. If you follow an affiliate link, the destination website may use cookies or other methods to attribute a purchase. FilamentPicks may receive a commission, but we do not receive your payment-card details or full retailer account information. External retailers process information under their own privacy policies.

Embedded content and external links

Pages may include content or links from manufacturers, retailers, social platforms, forums, video services, or other third parties. Those services may collect information as though you visited them directly and are governed by their own privacy policies.

Who receives information

We share only the information reasonably needed with providers that help us operate FilamentPicks, including website hosting, security, caching, anti-spam, consent management, email delivery, payment and licensing, and technical support providers. This currently includes MailerLite for newsletters and Lemon Squeezy for purchases and license management. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users, our systems, or legal rights.

We do not sell personal information.

International data transfers

Some providers may process information outside Romania or the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are based on a recognized legal mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses, together with appropriate safeguards.

How long we retain information

  • Newsletter information is kept while you remain subscribed and for a limited period afterward where needed to record an opt-out or demonstrate compliance.
  • Contact and support correspondence is generally kept for up to 24 months, unless a longer period is needed for an unresolved request, legal obligation, or claim.
  • Order and license records may be kept for the life of the one-time license and afterward where necessary for delivery, activation support, fraud prevention, accounting, tax, or legal requirements.
  • Technical and security logs are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, hosting, and legal purposes.
  • Print Radar workspace data stored locally remains on your device until you clear, replace, or overwrite it. FilamentPicks does not set the retention period for backups you export.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

To exercise a right, email hello@filamentpicks.com. We may need to verify your identity and request. If you are in the EU or EEA, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority, including Romania’s National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing.

Children’s privacy

FilamentPicks is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No internet transmission, browser storage, or information system can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your license key and exported backups private and use a secure, up-to-date device and browser.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, application, providers, or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published here with an updated date.
